In 2009 we were approached by the members of Manchester City Council who wanted to grow their volunteer cohort but were disappointed by the volunteer management systems on the market.
Therefore, over the next 3 years we developed TeamKinetic with our main objective to focus on the volunteers’ experience whilst minimising the level of administration required to managed large numbers of volunteers.
The outcome of this was an affordable web based system which increased their number of volunteers from 30 to over 3000 in less than 12 months.
There has been many challenges along the way, especially making the system flexible enough to work for all types of organisations and languages. However, knowing that our system has helped volunteers to commit over 300 thousand hours makes it worth the effort.
